Dubai’s Department of Finance has partnered with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) to strengthen procurement capability and promote international best practices across government entities.
The three-year agreement will support skills development among procurement professionals, help UAE nationals earn globally recognised qualifications, and promote excellence and knowledge sharing across Dubai’s public sector.
According to Hamed Abdulghafoor Alawadhi, executive director of the Shared Services Sector at Dubai Finance, the partnership reflects the emirate’s commitment to enhancing transparency and efficiency in public procurement. “By raising standards and aligning with global best practices, we are reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leader in procurement governance,” he said.
CIPS Mena regional director Sam Achampong said the collaboration would help shape a “future-ready procurement function” across Dubai’s public sector by empowering professionals with world-class knowledge and access to a global network of expertise.
The initiative forms part of Dubai’s broader objective to strengthen public administration and deliver greater value through effective financial management.
